BACKGROUND
The Science Advisory Panel consists of leading researchers and restoration practitioners in fields related to wetlands science. They identify key scientific questions for research funding, develop position papers for the Board’s consideration, and help to ensure WRP actions are informed by sound science. Over the past two years, the SAP has attracted $3-4 million dollars in grants and in-kind services such as NOAA, EPA, FWS, and USGS to develop models and tools to assess priorities and progress within a regional context.
